What is the best moment of the day for a visit?
Animals are visible outdoors all year round. However, they have the possibility of taking shelter and not being visible when the weather is not suitable.
In the summer, we advise you to come in the morning or late afternoon. When the temperature rises, the animals move into the shade.

In winter, you should come on a sunny day. Early afternoon is the best time to discover our park.
How long will the visit last?
The visit is free. If you follow the one kilometre long route and enjoy the animals and the gardens, you can expect to spend an hour and a half visiting the park. This can be a long or short visit depending on your interest.
In the afternoon, one or more activities are offered to help you see the animals. You will be given information on arrival.
Our animals
As a member of the AFdPZ, our establishment contributes to the preservation of endangered species through breeding. By visiting us, you are helping to support this effort.
Many species of tropical animals are bred in our establishment. Every year, new births are added to our pink book.

When you visit us, you will be able to admire unusual birds, such as hornbills. The Tropical Zoological Garden is known for its collection of papuan hornbills, ground hornbills, rhinoceros hornbills, etc. The shapes and bright colours of their beaks surprise everyone.

Other residents are a delight: squirrel monkeys, lemurs, meerkats, wallabies, colourful parrots, domestic animals and giant African tortoises.
Zookeeper experience
If you’re curious and want to find out what goes on behind the scenes at a zoo. Or if you’re planning to become a zoo animal keeper, the animal keeper experience is for you.
Accompanied by an animal keeper, you’ll meet our animals. You’ll help prepare their meals. And you’ll be able to enter certain enclosures, such as the wallabies and the domestic animals.

Our gardens
The exceptional climate of the Var allows the cultivation of many exotic plants outdoors. For the pleasure of the visitors and the comfort of the animals, a flora originating from the five continents is gathered: eucalyptus, mimosas, palms, cycas, yuccas, agaves, cacti and giant bamboos.

The plants are gathered in thematic gardens: Australian bush garden, desert rock gardens, palm grove and bamboo grove. This lively setting is a link with the natural habitats of the animals we keep. Because animals and plants are interdependent for their survival.

The gardens are attractive all year round. However, the maximum number of flowers can be enjoyed between February and October.
In recognition of its landscape qualities and the richness of its botanical collections, our establishment has been awarded the label Jardin remarquable by the DRAC.

In accordance with health and safety regulations for zoological gardens, pets are not allowed inside the park.

For your own safety, do not touch the animals at any time.
